Overnight Oats

Overnight oats is a dish Jack has been loving since he was a baby! It’s easy to put together, and makes for a quick breakfast in the morning since most of the work has been done the night before.

You can experiment with your mix-in’s, but our go-to’s are usually chia seeds, hemp seeds and cinnamon. Plus some pure maple syrup, fruit, and almond butter as a topping.

The recipe below is good for 3 servings (Jack, my husband and I all eat this). Any leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days.

Note: Place in a jar that has room at the top once all the ingredients are added.

Ingredients

  • 3, 1/3 cup scoops of whole rolled oats

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds

  • A few dashes of cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

  • Oat milk or almond milk

  • Pure maple syrup

Instructions

1. In a mason jar, add oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, cinnamon and salt. Mix to combine

2. Add oat milk and fill until it’s about an inch over the dry ingredients

3. Place in the refrigerator overnight

4. In the morning, add oats to a pot to warm up with a little pure maple syrup to add some sweetness. Cook for a few minutes until warm, adding extra milk if too thick

5. Serve with desired toppings: berries, banana, almond butter, etc.
